Overview

Hoa Lu is located in the center of Ninh Binh province, adjacent to the cities of Ninh Binh and Tam Diep. Hoa Lu district was established in 1907 and named Hoa Lu capital of Vietnam in the 10th century because most of the relics of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu are located in this district. Hoa Lu is located in the semi-mountainous area, there are many natural landscapes such as Trang An and Tam Coc - Bich Dong caves next to the relics belonging to Hoa Lu Ancient vestige complex which were formed and stored for over 1000 years. before.

Hoa Lu district is located in the north and west with Ninh Binh city. The north is adjacent to Gia Vien district, the west and the south is adjacent to Tam Diep city, the southwest is Nho Quan district, Yen Mo district and Yen Khanh district, the east borders Y Yen district, Nam Dinh province, and Ninh Binh city. Hoa Lu has a natural area of 139.7 km² (Provincial People's Committee in 2003) and a population of 103900 people.
